The NWFP government has decided that deduction will be made from the salaries of its employees for the month of October, payable on 1st November, as contribution to the Chief Minister Earthquake Fund.

As per decision, the deductions will be made from the basic pay at the rate of one-day pay of employees in BPS 1-16 and three days pay of government servants in BPS 17 and above.

The deductions will be made at source and shown in the pay bills/computerised pay slip for the month of October 2005.

However, in case where these deductions could not be made at source through pay bill/slip for the month of October 2005, the amounts will then be deducted and shown in the pay bill/slips for the month of November 2005.

In case of employees either posted or temporary or on deputation abroad, deductions will be permissible from such portion of salary as may be payable in Pak Rupees.

The deductions will not be made from the leave salaries of the employees on leave preparatory to retirement.

The orders shall apply to all employees of the provincial government, including project and contract employees.
